Experience
It is important for me to not only learn, and apply what I've learned, but also to share my knowledge with others. To really understand what you have learned, you must be able to teach it. I like to adapt my teaching style to a student's learning style. It's helpful to dissect a problem into smaller parts and encourage the student to develop a deeper understanding of the material. I use real world examples to bring a lesson to life; sometimes concepts can be very abstract when first introduced. I tutored the subjects of geometry and algebra as an undergrad at the University of California, Irvine. Mostly, I tutor the subjects of geometry, precalculus, and algebra. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UC Irvine. I plan to study water resources engineering in graduate school. Given my engineering background, math is my greatest strength, and I like to share this knowledge by tutoring the following subjects, in addition to those listed previously: elementary math, pre-algebra, middle school math, and algebra 1-4. I don't have a ton of hobbies; however, in my free time I like to research technology, do homemade science experiments, and travel.
