I am a tutor with extensive experience studying and teaching science. I graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a bachelor's degree in biology. I also completed a master's degree in medical health sciences at Touro University Nevada. During this time, I took several first year medical school classes, including embryology, histology, immunology, physiology, biochemistry, and anatomy. After I graduated, I helped tutor graduate level students in anatomy and biochemistry. I am comfortable tutoring students in a variety of science related subjects, including anatomy, biology, physiology, and biochemistry. I am also available to help students prepare for standardized tests. My philosophy as a tutor emphasizes utilizing mnemonic devices, quizzes, and visual aids to ensure that my students retain the information they are learning. My typical process involves creating outlines and PowerPoints based on the notes I receive from the student. When I explain the material, I make sure to go into a great amount of detail. I also like to stop after every few slides to give the student a pop quiz. After the lesson is complete, I give the student a short test to make sure that he or she feels confident and comfortable with the material we covered. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, playing basketball, watching movies, and exercising.
