I am a NJ certified teacher and I have been teaching and tutoring students for over 25 years. I tutor grades 4-12 in English/Writing, Language Arts, History, SAT/ACT Writing, Grammar, Critical Reading, Elementary Reading, Study Skills, and ESL. Need help with College Applications and Essays. I also help high school seniors with college applications including essays and short answers. I work with high level students who want to get into selective colleges. I also help with graduate and private school applications essays. I have also worked as a writer/editor in educational publishing. I wrote history textbooks and curriculum for K-12. Published author of three history books for History Compass on Westward Expansion, The New Deal, and Reconstruction, the period after the Civil War when civil rights began. I taught school in disadvantaged school districts in Flint, Michigan and rural Appalachia. Currently, I work as a home instructor in the Hopewell Valley Regional School District. My oldest son went to Sarah Lawrence College, and my youngest graduated from Hamilton College. He is now serving in the Peace Corps in Rwanda teaching English.
