I am a certified English teacher, with a Master's in English Education, and a Master's in English Literature. I am an English professor - at American University I taught ESOL, at Tunxis Community College I taught developmental reading and writing and at Southern Connecticut State University I taught Composition and Inquiry. I have been tutoring since 2006 at a wide variety of levels, from elementary, middle, and high school aged to adult students.

Hobbies

Fencing, summer stock technical theatre, yoga, skiing, dancing (competitive Irish step, salsa, folk, swing, ballroom), cooking international cuisines, squash, singing, playing the oboe and the cello, hiking, and canoeing. I speak ASL and Spanish, and have studied Thai and French. I enjoy teaching students to work on their own, equipping them with the tools needed for them to master skills and concepts without my help.
