Experience

Quick Summary: I am a full-time tutor based in Chicago with 10 years experience in boosting students' scores for the ACT, SAT, PSAT, and GRE. A high test-score is a vital part of a strong application to college or graduate school. No matter what kind of student you are, I will help you achieve the best results possible. More detail: I have been a private tutor since 2005. Born and raised in the Chicago area, I received a BA with Honors from DePaul University in 2006, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Communications. In April 2015, I also received an MA in Psychology from National-Louis University. I have used my academic training in learning theory and interpersonal communication, combined with my tutoring experience, to help many student gain acceptance into top schools of their choice. Before establishing my independent tutoring business in 2007, I worked for a national private tutoring company. During that time, I had a 100% success rate in improving students’ ACT/SAT scores by a contractually guaranteed amount, and demonstrated my proficiency in working with students who had poor results with previous tutors. Today, I work with students all over the Chicagoland area to improve their results for entrance exams and academic tests, as well as offering generalized academic preparation services. I also have extensive experience working with students with special needs: * Developing study plans for students with learning differences such as dyslexia and ADHD, including students with 504 Plans or IEP’s * ELL and ESL students * Coaching for students who experience test-taking anxiety * Working with neurodiverse students, such as those diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome I would love the opportunity to help you or your child achieve the scores you want. Drop me a line!
