Experience

I have been a teacher/tutor since 2008, and have taught at both the high school and university level. During this time, I taught both English and Spanish at all levels, from introductory classes to Advanced Placement and upper college level classes. I have proctored and tutored for the PSAT, SAT, AP Tests, and language placement classes at a university. I have also been a coach for the United State Academic Decathlon, and have coached speech, interview, essay, Language and Literature, Art History, and various other fields that are covered in the event.

Hobbies

I am interested in fiction from around the world, specifically books in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Catalan. My favorite authors include David Foster Wallace, Margaret Atwood, Haruki Murakami, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Jose Saramago, and James Salter. In addition to using it as a profession, my major hobby is translation. I love to translate, especially poetry and fiction from Spain and Portugal. Non-educational hobbies: I am a giant college sports fan (I did got to Penn State!) and love fantasy football and March Madness. I get along with pretty much every animal. Pets aren't a problem for me, and I love dogs and cats of all sizes.
