Experience

I have over 6 years of tutoring experience in English, Writing (paper/essay/creative writing), Calculus, Pre-calculus, General chemistry, chemistry of art, English Literature, Philosophy, Music History, and Ethics. I have tutored children as well (6-15 years) in math, English, and science classes.I have had over 18 years of British Education, so if you’re taking an English Literature class on the Rise of the novel or one featuring British authors, I would be a great resource for you! I’m also great with American literature, if that’s what you’re studying. I'm friendly, energetic, and fun.Tutoring is my passion. I remain a tutor because there's nothing more rewarding than guiding people toward understanding and watching their faces light up when they finally "get it." I'm very patient with my students, as well. I have also tutored college honors students for 4 years so college students, don't be shy to talk to me! I've taken general and organic chemistry and I have two and a half years of chemical research experience in bionanotechnology. I have taken several English Lit. classes including three Shakespeare classes, Chaucer, Donne, Elizabethan England, etc. I have taken several creative writing classes and workshops. I am very good with essays and I really believe that if you let me,we would get your writing to an A+ standard. Other subjects that I've taken include every subject that I tutor (with the exception of chemistry of art because it isn't a Pre-med requirement, and Pre-calculus because I didn't need it). I still tutor students who need help with these subjects, though. For those who need help with math, I graded for the math department (pre-calculus, calculus, business calculus, finite math, and statistics) for three years at Fordham so I am aware of common mistakes students make and I can help you avoid them. Ask me anything! I can assist with the SAT writing section and/or college admission essays for a flat fee. When I took the SAT 5 years ago, these were my scores: SAT I: Writing: 760 Critical Reading: 760 Math: 700 SAT II: Literature: 780 I took it for fun last week and had a 2400.

Hobbies

I love novels! (Horror, suspense, and historical romance). I sing with two professional concert choirs, I write (mostly poetry and creative nonfiction), I enjoy watching soccer, I play badminton, and I love the opera, ballet, and Broadway shows. I play the flute and listen to a lot of music from the classical and baroque eras. I love and support many indie rock artists; I feel their music is severely underrated. I'm very passionate about women affairs, so I write for an online magazine focused on empowering college women. What else? I just found out I like white pizza. Who would've thought sauceless pizza would taste so good?
