Julia S.

Private tutor in Washington, DC

Education

I graduated in the spring of 2015 with an MA in Italian Literature Culture and Language from the University of Connecticut. I also graduated with my BA in Italian Language and Literature from the Pennsylvania State University. While I was in school, I focused on early 20th century literature, film studies and translation studies.

Experience

I taught Italian and Italian/Italian American film courses as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Connecticut for 2 years. I thoroughly enjoyed helping my students explore the Italian culture and helping them master linguistic concepts. I am also a member of the Italian honor society, Gamma Kappa Alpha.

Hobbies

Outside of working at a non-profit Italian cultural organization in Washington DC, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family and cooking. Also spend a lot of my time with creative projects like jewelry making, arts and crafts and sewing. Being that I am new to DC area, I am hoping to get involved with local community service projects.
