Goucher College - BA, Spanish
Experience
Education and Spanish have played important roles in my schooling and career. I graduated from Goucher College with honors with a BA in Spanish. After graduation I worked as a Spanish interpreter for Baltimore County Public Schools until I landed a job as a manager of translation and interpretation contracts for Dream Management, Inc. In 2013, I left Dream and moved to Quito, Ecuador to volunteer as a teacher for the Working Boys' Center, a Jesuit-run human development project that provides education and other human services to Quito's poorest families. I currently work as an editor of lexicography for SpanishDict.com, a Spanish-English dictionary that serves more than 12 million users every month. I have a love affair with the Spanish language and linguistics. As a non-native speaker, I have a deep understanding of which teaching strategies work and which strategies don't work for learning the Spanish language's most frustrating concepts. I read about language learning in my spare time and am not afraid to cater different strategies to your learning style.

Hobbies
I am a linguistics nerd. I love reading about and obsessing over languages. I am also a poet and frequently read at some of DC's open mic nights. I love traveling and photographing my adventures. I have lived in Ecuador and Spain and have traveled to Peru, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Portugal, Italy, Greece, France, and the Netherlands. I'm always thinking about where I can escape to next.
