ExperienceI am a highly qualified vector biologist who recently moved back to the Washington, DC area with my wife to support her career. I am interested in tutoring part-time as I consider my next career move (ideally, I would love to continue tutoring even after I make that decision!)
My most recent teaching experience has involved developing and delivering formal instruction to a tremendously diverse group of students, including teaching complex and advanced biological and public health concepts to US medical and graduate students as well as teaching more basic and fundamental material to international public health professionals (roughly equivalent to US high school and Junior College students).
I have also completed the Pennsylvania State Student Teaching requirements that included a full academic year of teaching High School Biology and General Science, though I am equally comfortable tutoring additional subjects like biostatistics and epidemiology as well.
HobbiesA lifelong academic and scientist, I also enjoy outdoor activities like running, hiking and camping. I was also fortunate enough to play varsity football (NCAA Division III) in college, and I understand first-hand the challenges of balancing schoolwork and athletics faced by today's student athletes.
I also enjoy world travel (partly because of my work in global health), and met my wife while we were serving as Peace Corps Volunteers in Central America.
