Education

I graduated magna cum laude from Davidson College (near Charlotte, NC) with a major in Hispanic Studies and a minor in Educational Studies last May. As the capstone project for my minor I completed an 80-hour directed field placement in an ESL classroom and tutoring program over the course of this past semester. I have spent time living, studying, and working in Spain, Argentina, and Mexico.

Experience

I have served as a volunteer tutor since high school, working especially with under-resourced groups such as immigrants and ESL students. My specialty is second language acquisition as I have taught English and Spanish to all levels of non-native speakers in volunteer and paid positions (at community centers, as a TA for my college peers, as a camp counselor, etc.). Most recently I was selected to be a part of the Fulbright-García Robles cohort of English Language Assistants to Mexico. I worked at a public university in Puebla while also volunteering at an elementary school.

Hobbies

My studies of the Spanish language have created a passion for learning about and experiencing other cultures. Thus, I love to travel, read, and explore cultural sites like museums. I also enjoy making art-- from working on craft projects, to dancing and practicing photography. My favorite way to spend a day is in the company of family and friends.
