ExperienceI make a great language tutor for three reasons:
1) I am a balanced bilingual. My native language is English but I started learning Spanish as a baby and haven't stopped ever since. Speaking both languages, I know the nuances in each and can compare and contrast them. Additionally, I have lived in Latin America and can teach you the cultural side of the language as well. I'm not just teaching textbook Spanish - I'm helping you learn the real thing!
2) I myself am an avid language enthusiast and have studied many languages. I've gone through language learning and understand how the process works. I can teach you tips and tricks that have worked for me in the past.
3) I am a linguist. What we study in linguistics is the science of language itself; how it works, the patterns it follows, etc. This gives me good insight into how to break down language and teach it from the ground up.
HobbiesWhen I'm not nerding around studying linguistics, I enjoy reading, swimming, hiking, traveling, photography, coffee, eating good food, appreciating good restaurants, and working out when I can get myself motivated enough.
I also run my own Spanish immersion school for young kids, so that takes up a lot of my time, and I love it :)
