Education

My name is James and I am a recent Vanderbilt University graduate (2012 - 2016) with a Bachelor degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. I also obtained two minors in Chemistry and Nanoscience during my 4 years of college. I graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors and finished with a GPA of 3.86 out of 4.0. I have excelled in many math and science courses from organic chemistry (scored an A- both semesters) to multivariable calculus (scored an A).

Experience

I have recently tutored for 2-3 months several middle school, high school, and college students in math and science subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. Through college, I worked with elementary and middle school students from Fall 2014 to Winter 2015 to aid them in improving their understanding of math and science. I have also tutored over 50 people online for free through my SAT Guide on how to score an 800 on the Critical Reading section which has over 300,000 views on collegeconfidential.com. I love tutoring because any subject may be challenging and not as straightforward at first, and I enjoy working one-on-one with others to help them gain a better understanding of a subject such as math or science and thus improve his/her knowledge and problem-solving abilities. I especially enjoy explaining concepts in a simpler way so my student will "get it" and fully understand. I am very excited at this opportunity to help you - please feel free to sign up for a lesson with me and I will do my best to help you. I have scored 36 on ACT Math, 800 on SAT Math, 800 on the SAT Math II Subject Test, A's in all high school math courses (algebra, honors geometry, honors advanced algebra, honors precalculus, AP Calculus BC, Multivariable Calculus, and Linear Algebra), and I have had experience tutoring high school students in math courses. I have also scored 36 on ACT Science, 800 on the SAT Chemistry subject test, 770 on the SAT Biology M subject test, A's in most high school science courses (Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Honors Biology, AP Biology, Enriched Physics, and Advanced Chemistry). I love science and explaining how the concepts work in problem-solving, and I have tutored several students in chemistry and biology classes.
